Social Reproduction of<scp>Post‐Soviet</scp>Migrant Labour: Braiding the International Political Economy

In this article, we analyse the social reproduction of post-Soviet migrant labour. Our inquiry builds on artwork by Olga Jitlina and Anna Tereshkina Mahpora Kiromova dealing with effects migration family relations in Central Asia South Caucasus. We have braided strands theory to examine transnational household as a set relationships that enables global capitalism draw value out unwaged work reproduce differentiated (i.e. gendered racialised) labour force. focus is tropes family, weddings, love, violence. The analysis these draws attention intersecting globalised capitalism, local structures value, state, patriarchy political economy. Through them detail fundamental co-constitution production reproduction, but also show practices can be reservoirs resistance potential change.
